Arcadia at Cape Laem Sor Estate - Poolside paradise

About

In true James Bond-style, this very private villa is accessed from a thatched parking area and a flight of steps, or via an elevator. You arrive as if by magic onto a level terrace, surrounded by mature tropical trees, with a 21.3-metre infinity pool and large lawned area to your right, the main living areas to your left and a perfect, uninterrupted ocean view straight ahead. You will instantly feel at ease as the tranquil environment envelopes you. Welcome to luxury island living at its very best, the highlight of which are mesmerising kaleidoscopic sunsets, viewable from every area of this lavishly appointed villa.

Go ahead and explore the clean, white-themed, luxurious and contemporary living spaces, modern entertainment systems, antique Asian artefacts, relics and artwork throughout, and the five sumptuous bedrooms, where even the bathrooms have decadent sea views! Arcadia has a certain elegance about it, reminiscent of a perfectly coiffed Audrey Hepburn. An ideal abode for writers, artists and nature lovers, it is perfect for a family or a group of friends with a keen eye for beauty.

The villa is within easy reach of a number of sought-after restaurants, wellness centres, waterfalls and cultural attractions. Staff can organise a taxi or rental car with or without a driver for you to explore the island. If you must, that is. With complimentary breakfast and a private chef available to prepare and serve delicious home-cooked Asian or western meals to order, there is little reason for you to leave. Your stay at Arcadia is certain to leave you feeling rested and recharged, however you decide to spend your time here.

Arcadia at Cape Laem Sor Estate - Dining area with gorgeous view

Layout

Well arranged across two levels and three pavilions, Villa Arcadia allows each guest their own personal space.  The main living pavilion houses an open-plan informal lounge area and kitchen, with indoor dining for eight.  Full-length sliding glass and white louvred doors lead out to the covered balcony.  An infinity pool and lawned sun terrace are the other side of the main living area.

The second pavilion houses the master bedroom, affording it unparalleled privacy.  In the third pavilion are four double bedrooms, one pair above the other.

Living Areas

Indoor Living

Contemporary style meets whitewashed beach-house. The living area is open-plan and genuinely tropical. You may be tempted to leave the sliding glass walls open all day so that indoor living here feels almost outdoors, though they can of course be pulled if you want to keep the room cool. The interior features whitewashed walls, white flooring with gorgeous white rugs for that ’at-home’ feel and white custom-made sofas and furnishings with bold black and white patterns. The décor is an eclectic mix of antiques, wooden statues and artwork, and fans hanging from the high-vaulted ceiling allow the air to circulate.

The kitchen is modern but informal, and features a breakfast bar with four stools. This may just become the social hub of the villa; a place to converge over a tub of ice-cream or a light bite. A dining table sits four inside , whilst a three-metre-long solid wood table seating eight stretches across the covered balcony with more coveted ocean views. An indulgent complimentary breakfast is served here every morning. The balcony blends into the terrace that surrounds the entire living area, furnished with six rattan easy chairs and a coffee table. It’s a great place to kick back, relax and enjoy a movie, read a book, catch up on your emails or just let time stand still and be mesmerised by the perfect sunsets.

WiFi is available throughout the villa as well as satellite TV viewed on high-definition LCD flat-screens.

Outdoor Living

The 21.3-metre saltwater infinity pool has wide gentle steps down into its depths. Instagram-friendly, it is the perfect setting for those enviable tropical ocean-view shots. A large lawned sun terrace beckons you to soak up some sunshine, elegantly draped on one of the four sun loungers.

Stone steps built into the hillside lead down to the sea and there are a couple of shaded levelled areas here , ideal for some solitude and reflection or just for listening to the gentle sounds of the ocean on the rocks below.
